MOSCOW, July 6 (Itar-Tass) —— The meeting of the Friends of Syria group in Paris is politically wrong and immoral, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Friday.
“Russia, China and a number of other countries, which have old-time bonds of friendship with Syria and its people, refused to join the list of such ‘friends’, because, in our opinion, the biased format they have chosen is not only politically wrong, but also immoral,” Lukashevich said. “’Friendship’ solely with part of the Syrian opposition is capable of exacerbating contradictions, worsening the confrontation inside Syria and causing the parties to the intra-Syrian conflict take a harsher stance.”
“This means only one thing – further bloodshed and more human tragedies,” the diplomat said.
