MOSCOW, July 6 (Itar-Tass) — The searches at the head office of the Incom Corporation, which were caused by the misappropriation case at the Bank of Moscow, are not linked with the interrogation of wife of the former Moscow mayor Yelena Baturina, Baturina’s lawyer Alexander Asnis told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“Some media reports that the searches in Incom are linked the interrogation of allegedly key witness Baturina are not true,” he said.
Meanwhile, Asnis explained that neither the former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov nor his wife “are the key witnesses in this criminal case.”
“Baturina finds such media reports as a libel,” the lawyer noted.
The investigation department of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that the searches at the head office of the Incom Corporation were not linked with the activities of Incom Real Estate. The scope of searches continue at the offices and the residence places in Moscow and the Moscow Region belonging to the officials, who were involved in the activities of the Bank of Moscow, the investigation department reported.
The former president of the Bank of Moscow Andrei Borodin and the former vice-president of the Bank of Moscow Dmitry Akulinin are accused of massive misappropriation. Both of them are staying outside Russia and are wanted. The detectives charged them with several episodes of misappropriations through swindling schemes, particularly the misappropriation of 12.5 million roubles of the crediting organization.
The detectives found that Borodin and Akulinin with the president of the Kuznetsky Most Development Company and the general director of the Premier Estate Company as accomplices have misappropriated the funds of the bank that were later transferred to the accounts of the Inteco Company, which Yelena Baturina headed then. Her husband, the former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov and Baturina herself gave testimony to the detectives on this criminal case.
