KIEV, July 5 (Itar-Tass) —— The Ukrainian parliament on Thursday, July 5, passed a law aimed at ensuring open, transparent and democratic elections.
Under the law, video monitoring will be organised at polling stations using at least two web cameras.
This rule will not apply to territorial election commissions, local election commission, polling stations abroad, special polling stations and the Central Election Commission.
On Wednesday, July 4, the parliament voted for disbursing 1 billion hryvnia (1.254 billion U.S. dollars) from the budget for purchasing video monitoring systems for parliamentary elections slated for October 28, 2012.
