MOSCOW, July 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russia will not allow the use of force against Syria to be approved by the U.N. Security Councilm Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle on Thursday, July 5.
“As for a use-of-force scenario, we cannot allow this to happen,” Lavrov said, commenting on the resolution containing coercive measures.
Speaking of a deployment of U.N. peacekeepers in Syria, Lavrov said “such operations are launched with the consent of the host country’s government and other warring factions as a whole”.
