MOSCOW, July 5 (Itar-Tass) —— A police officer was detained with drugs, particularly six packages of methadone, in Moscow, a source in the Moscow police told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

“Russian road policemen stopped a Renault car, which was steered by a policeman from the Moscow metro police station, for a car check-up in the evening on Wednesday at the 38th kilometre of the Kashirskoye Highway. In the presence of attesting witnesses six packages with methadone with a total weight of 3.65 grams that is a massive batch were confiscated from the police captain,” the source said.

The criminal case was opened against the policeman under Article 228 Part 2 for illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, production and processing of drugs. A service inquiry continues over this fact that will result in the guilty police officer to be fired from the police and several police chiefs to be reprimanded on the orders of the chief of the Moscow main police department.
