President of Russian Football Union resigns

He announced his intention to leave the post on June 25

MOSCOW, July 4 (Itar-Tass) — The Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union on Wednesday accepted resignation of its President Sergei Fursenko. He announced his intention to leave the post on June 25 after the Russian national team’s disastrous performance at the Euro 2012 Football Championships co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
