Onishchenko urges Russians going to Cuba to consider cholera danger

Those who go to Cuba should observe basic sanitary rules

MOSCOW, July 4 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian citizens, who want to spend their summer vacations in Cuba, should be very careful in the use of vegetables over the hazard of cholera contamination, Russian state chief sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko told reporters on Wednesday.

“We will not ban anything, though lethal cases were already reported,” he noted. “Those who go to Cuba should observe basic sanitary rules. You should use neither raw vegetables nor unsafe water,” he underlined.
