MAKHACHKALA, July 3 (Itar-Tass) —— A total of 116 terrorist crimes, including 102 attacks on police officers, were recorded in Dagestan this year. The attacks killed 67 policemen and injured 212, the Dagestani Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
Some 100 militants were killed and 94 were detained in the same period; three militants volunteered to surrender, it said.
Five Federal Security Service officers died and seven were injured in counter terrorism operations. The Interior Ministry Forces lost ten servicemen dead and 18 wounded. The Emergency Situations Ministry had three employees killed and three wounded.
Terrorist acts killed seven civilians and injured 75, the ministry reported.
