YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, July 3 (Itar-Tass) — Dmitry Medvedev plans to visit the Kuril Islands again.
"I remind that we have planned together with colleagues, ministers and vice-premiers, to visit the islands of the Kuril ridge, see facilities that are under construction there, hold meetings and talk with people," the prime minister said. Due to the weather conditions that change this Tuesday, the airport has not accepted aircraft for a few days already. "But in any case, we will do it a bit later," he said.
Visiting the Kurile Islands by Russian government members is important, the prime minister believes. "The practice will be continued, naturally by the new government," he said.
According to Medvedev, the Kuriles are an important part of the Sakhalin Region, and just an important part of the Russian land.
