MINSK, July 3 (Itar-Tass) — Right in the middle of the traditional summer vacations at general schools, school students from the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic countries have begun to take classes at a summer school of the Russian language organized by Russia’s Federal Agency for Compatriots Living Abroad /Rossotrudnichestvo/, the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Minsk, and the Moscow-based Supreme School of Economics.
Officials at the Minsk mission of Rossotrudnichestvo said the organizers have invited scholars of philology, teachers of philological disciplines, as well as the teachers of the Russian language and literature, post-graduate students, reporters working for the Russian-speaking news media, and activists of the associations of Russian fellow-countrymen abroad.
The school’s curriculum for this year includes open classes, workshops on the methods of teaching the Russian language and literature, and master classes for young teachers.
The program of the Summer School features apart from classes the exhibitions of printed and multimedia products and video conferences with experts on Russian who live in the CIS and Baltic states.
The bulk of classes have been organized by the Russian Center of Culture and Science in Minsk.
