Journalist Alexander Urzhanov leaves NTV

“I worked till the end of season because I still put professionalism above political expediency,” he said

MOSCOW, July 2 (Itar-Tass) — Editor-in-chief of the “Central Television” program at the NTV television channel Alexander Urzhanov has said on his page in Facebook that he has left NTV.

“I am no longer working at NTV as of this week,” Urzhanov wrote on Monday, adding he made his decision in April.

“I worked till the end of season because I still put professionalism above political expediency and believe that team work is more important than personal reputation,” Urzhanov explained.

“Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen to ‘Central Television’ now. No one knows that for sure, in fact. Anyway, this is going to be a different program,” the journalist stressed.

Earlier, it became known that the NTV had not extended a contract with Pavel Lobkov who used to shoot scientific detective films for the channel and had worked in the “Profession: Reporter” program.

Sofia Gudkova, the chief editor of the “Final Program”, left NTV in May.
