MOSCOW, July 2 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev begins a working tour f a number of regions of the Far Eastern Federal District on Monday.

The tour begins in Vladivostok where the Head of Government will chair a session of the State Commission for the socio-economic development of the Far East, the Republic of Buryatia, Zabaikalye Territory, and Irkutsk Region. The session will deal with additional measures to ensure transport links with the difficult-of-access territories of the Far East and Siberia.

Medvedev will take part in the opening of a test traffic in two lanes via a new bridge leading to Russkiy (Russian) Island, the venue of the APEC summit-2012. It is planned that full-scale traffic of public and city transport via the bridge will open on August 1.

The Prime Minister is to visit the Far Eastern Federal University, and familiarize himself with the condition of the Sedanka-Patrokl motor road -- one of the sections of which was damaged owing to a landslide on June 12. Medvedev is also planning to take a ride aboard an aeroexpress from Sanatornaya Station to the airport of the city of Vladivostok. Aeroexpresses currently ply in a testing mode. Regular traffic is to begin in mid-July. Travel time from the airport to the railway terminal will be 48 minutes.
