GENEVA, June 30 (Itar-Tass) — The Syrian people should build its future in a democratic and independent way, according to a final declaration, which was read out by U.N./LAS Special Envoy Kofi Annan on Saturday.
Syrians themselves should determine their future. All parties should cease violence on a mutual basis and comply with the five points of the peace plan. They should observe truce and the ceasefire regime, Annan said.
The special envoy urged the Syrian government to release all detainees, respect people’s right to peaceful demonstrations and get humanitarian access.
The Syrian people itself should decide its future, he said.
