Fire in Khabarovsk Ter village localized

MOSCOW, June 30 (Itar-Tass) —— The fire in the village of Chekunda in the Khabarovsk Territory is localized, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry's regional department told Itar-Tass.

A wildfire spread to the village, and six houses caught fire. The blaze could spread to other houses, but it was localized, a press service source said. According to the preliminary information, nobody was hurt.

The village is located in a remote area which is difficult to reach. Aircraft are used to fight the blaze. The Il-76, which arrived from Moscow earlier on Saturday, a Mi-26 and a Mi-8 helicopter are working there.

The Khabarovsk Territory suffers from wildfires, as dry and hot weather has set in.
