MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) —— The Sukhoi Superjet 100 crash in Indonesia will have no effect on bilateral economic cooperation, Indonesian Coordinator Minister for Economy Mohammed Hatta Rajasa told United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) President Mikhail Pogosyan on Tuesday.
The sides expressed their interest in the soonest investigation of the tragic accident.
The SSJ100 performing a show flight rammed Mount Salak in western areas of Java in early May. All the 45 people aboard – eight Russians, 35 citizens of Indonesia, one of France and one of the United States – died.
The Indonesian minister declared support to the UAC attempts to adjust cooperation with Indonesian aircraft plants, including Dirgantara, and joint work on the Indonesian certification of the SSJ100.
The UAC views the Indonesian market “ as a top priority in selling its military and civilian products. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft intends to begin the deliveries of SSJ100 to the Indonesian airline Sky Aviation in the end of this year,” Pogosyan said.
Besides, the corporation is also promoting the MS-21 jet. “Alongside an increase in Indonesian orders, the UAC will be prepared to discuss industrial cooperation and opening of service centers on the premises of Indonesian enterprises,” he said.
The UAC incorporates Sukhoi, Aviaexport foreign economic company, Ilyushin Finance leasing company, Irkut aircraft plant, Komsomolsk-on-Amur Gagarin aircraft plant, Ilyushin interstate aircraft company, Nizhny Novgorod Sokol aircraft plant, Novosibirsk Chkalov aircraft plant, Tupolev and VASO.
The corporation was established in 2006 on the orders of the Russian president.
