MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) —— Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Sergei Belokonev as the head of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs, the government press service reported on Tuesday.
Belokonev was form in Svoboda, Kursk region, on July 20, 1977.
He graduated from the Kursk State Pedagogical University with a degree in history in 2000 and the Moscow State Social University with a degree in law in 2001. He was granted the Ph.D. degree at the Philosophy Department of the Moscow Lomonosov State University in 2004.
In 2001-2003 he was the head of the St. Petersburg organization of the Idushchiye Vmeste (Going Together) public organization.
In 2004-December 2007 he was the secretary of the Nashi youth organization’s federal council.
Since 2005 he started teaching at the Political Psychology Faculty and since 2008 at the Political Sociology and Psychology Faculty of the Moscow Lomonosov State University.
In 2007 was the curator of the Nashi federal program, Our Election, and a member of the United Russia central election staff.
In 2007 he formed the National Prospects Fund and was the Fund President until 2011.
In 2007-2011 he was a deputy of the State Duma, the first deputy head of the State Duma Youth Affairs Committee.
In April 2009 – September 2010 he was the secretary of the Smolensk regional branch of United Russia.
In November 2011 he took the position of a deputy head of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs.
Belokonev is married, with three children.
