MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) — A new concept and budget of the Kommersant TV channel is planned to develop by autumn, Kommersant Holding Editor-in-Chief Mikhail Mikhailin told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“At first it should be decided what type of broadcasting will be suitable for us and our audience should be determined, then the economic feasibility of the concept should be proved and then it should be decided in what way Kommersant TV will offer its broadcasting,” Mikhailin said.

“I do not have a clear-cut task on this issue, we do not set exact deadlines and hope to do it in summer. Then some time will be needed to approve a new budget and a business plan. We do not intend to delay it for too long, but do not want to hurry to avoid what happened now. I believe that we will settle all the issues by autumn,” Mikhailin noted.

The Kommersant publishing house stated about the shutdown of the Kommersant TV project, explaining this decision with the need to optimize the holding.

The news television channel Kommersant TV was launched in October 2011. The television channel was positioned as a source of hot news and urgent comments.

Kommersant TV is the second project, which the Kommersant directorate stated to shut down in the last few weeks. On June 19, the Kommersant publishing house stated about the shutdown of the Russian language version of the magazine Citizen K.
