MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko said on Tuesday he was ready to resign in the event the Russian national teams fails at the London Olympic Games.

“We must have an adequate idea of ourselves. After the Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010 I already heard questions about resignation. If I feel I am to blame, I will go. But let us invite representatives from all sports disciplines and ask them what the minister should do more to ensure adequate preparation for the Olympics, and what is up to the state,” Mutko said at a news conference.

In his words, he is ready to step down if he “feels he should”.
