MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) — The Kommersant publishing house stated about the shutdown of the Kommersant TV project. The Kommersant publishing house explained the shutdown of its TV channel with optimization.

The news television channel Kommersant TV was launched in October 2011. The television channel was positioned as a source of hot news and urgent comments. According to the TNS-Gallup marketing company, for nine months of broadcasting and according to the first wave of the TV Index Plus surveys in the first half of 2012 in Russian cities with the population of over 100,000 people, the home average monthly audience of the Kommersant TV channel is three percent (1,627 people) among people over 18 years, the aggregate average monthly audience (home and out-of-home audience) is 5.1% (2,766 people) among people over 18 years.

The Kommersant TV channel is the second project, which the Kommersant directorate stated to shut down in the last few weeks. On June 19, the Kommersant publishing house declared about the shutdown of the Russian language version of the magazine Citizen K.
