RF Health Ministry drafting rules from private drug rehab clinics

Private centers should not provide treatment, they should promote preventive activities, socialize drug addicts and help them feel the life, Yakovleva said

MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Heath Ministry is developing common standards for all private drug rehabilitation treatment clinics and centres, Deputy Minister Tatyana Yakovleva told reporters on Tuesday.

“We are now thinking about what to do to put them within some bounds,” she said.

“I have a very good attitude to public organizations and private clinics, without them we will be unable to cope with the problem of drug addiction,” she said.

However, private centers “should not provide treatment, they should promote preventive activities, socialize drug addicts and help them feel the life,” Yakovleva said.
