MOSCOW, June 26 (Itar-Tass) — A member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, Igor Yurgens, filed an application for leaving the Council.

“Soon this application will be placed at the Council’s website,” an official of the Council told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

Yurgens will be the 17th member who quit the Council. If another three members leave it, the Council will lose its quorum and legitimacy.

The Council’s president, Mikhail Fedotov, has repeatedly confirmed that in this case he would resign.

The Council will hold its meeting on July 2 to discuss the formation principles.
