Putin, Chavez discuss cooperation in energy sector, world prices

JERUSALEM, June 26 (Itar-Tass) – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez had a telephone conversation Monday night, in the course of which they discussed collaboration in the energy sector, especially in the context the current situation on the international markets of crude oil, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

The telephone conversation was held at the initiative of the Venezuelan side, he said.

Apart from the situation on the markets of hydrocarbons, the two leaders also looked at bilateral cooperation in the building industry, in the financial sphere and in defense-related technologies.
