PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, June 26 (Itar-Tass) -- An earthquake measuring 4.5 points on the open-ended Richter scale has occurred off the Kamchatka Peninsula’s southeast Pacific coast.
There have been no victims or destructions and no tsunami warnings have been issued.
The epicenter of the quake was located in the vicinity of Cape Lopatka in the extreme south of the peninsula and its seismic focus was identified at a depth of 41.8 kilometers below the oceanic floor.
The Kamchatka territory’s administrative center, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is located 271 to the northwest of the site of the seismic event
There have been no reports on any considerable crust tremors in the Kamchatkan towns or villages.
The quake was registered at 01:16 Moscow Standard Time Tuesday /22:16 GMT Monday/
