JERUSALEM, June 25 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian Federal Space Agency Roscosmos plans to reach an agreement on installing a Russian GLONASS station on Israel’s territory, said Roscosmos head Vladimir Popovkin.
“I believe we will reach agreement on the emplacement of a Russian station here [in Israel] by the end of the year to watch over the integrity of the system,” Popovkin said.
He said the Israeli side would be supplied with data in return.
Popovkin is on the Russian delegation in Israel headed by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
If the sides conclude the agreement, the station can be installed in 2013, Popovkin holds.
