Russian Technologies to launch 1st line of helicopter repair centre in Venezuela in 2012

It will take from two to three years to fully launch the “unique” centre

ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region, June 25 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s state-run Russian Technologies corporation plans to launch the first phase of a helicopter repair centre in Venezuela in 2012.

“This year, we are to launch the first line of a helicopter repair centre in Venezuela,” Sergei Goreslavsky, the head of Russian Technologies’ foreign economic activity department, told journalists on Monday. “It will be fitted with the most advanced Russian technologies to service and repair our rotorcraft.”

According to Goreslavsky, it will take from two to three years to fully launch the “unique” centre. “Then it will offer full-cycle maintenance and repair service in the entire region,” he stressed.

In order to ensure the centre’s smooth functioning, which implies a solid long-term spare part delivery system, a relevant agreement will be signed within the framework of the second international forum Technologies in Machine-building due to begin in Zhukovsky, Moscow region on June 27.
