YEKATERINBURG, June 25 (Itar-Tass) — A forest fire broke out in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District close to the oil and gas field in Vyngayakha, the press service of the Urals federal district’s forestry department told Itar-Tass on Monday.
The area damaged by wildfire is being specified.
Local residents and Yamalspas rescue teams are engaged in the fire-fighting operation.
According to the regional controller’s office, measures are taken to prevent the wildfire from spreading to the populated area and the oil and gas field, the press service said.
