Putin hopes for constructive coop with Egypt’s new authorities

MOSCOW, June 25 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Mohammed Mursi upon his election as Egypt’s president.

He expressed the hope for constructive cooperation with Egypt’s new authorities for the purpose of boosting Russian-Egyptian relations and ensuring peace and stability in the Middle East, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

The candidate of Muslim Brotherhood gained support of 51.73 percent of voters outstripping by several percents another contender, ex-prime minister Ahmed Shafiq.
