ST. PETESRBURG, June 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The last day of the St. Petersburg Economic Form will be devoted to discussions on the future of APEC, the real estate market in Russia and the influence of the legal environment on business.

In part, experts will be trying to identify the challenges facing the Asia-Pacific Region, the place Russia may contest there, and the development models that may prove the most viable ones.

Also, a discussion will unfold over to what extent the economic models of the past may be applied today. The policies of Pyotr Stolypin will be discussed among others. The participants in the forum will be trying to find out whether his experience may be of use in the 21st century.

Under the auspices of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives experts will be discussing what skilled personnel is necessary for building a new economy in Russia. And representatives of the building industry sector will give thought to what is to be done to draw investments into the industry and how to ease risks in implementing major projects.

Also, the delegates will exchange opinion of how the legal environment influences businesses, because the effectiveness of the national legislation and the judicial system in a competitive economy play an important role for attracting capital into the country.

The theme of startups and their globalization will be high on the agenda, too. Representatives of at least 30 foreign venture funds have visited Russia to get acquainted with the authors of new projects.

On the final day of the forum the questions of ecology will be raised. Russia has vast opportunities for implementing an ecological policy and upgrading the economy with the “green” initiatives, which may open up new prospects in the field of integration in the world community.
