Putin strongly against bubbles and dummies in politics, economy

He believes that “the skill of leadership is confined to the skill of finding a fundamental way out of global stagnation and instability”

ST. PETERESBURG, June 21 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin is emphatically against what he described as “bubbles and dummies” in politics and the economy. “One should be able to tell the truth and bear responsibility. Unbridled financial machinations and populism by politicians are equally dangerous. Bubbles and dummies should have no place in politics or the economy,” Putin told the St. Petersburg economy forum on Thursday.

He believes that “the skill of leadership is confined to the skill of finding a fundamental way out of global stagnation and instability.”

“Proposing and implementing a long-term development strategy – the one who does that first will certainly achieve strategic advantage,” Putin forecasts.

“The leaders who fail to achieve the corresponding results, to give their people hope for a better future, good jobs will run the risk of plunging their countries into an ocean of social and political instability and all sorts of conflicts,” Putin said with certainty.

“Sustainable development today is a leading theme for the national agenda of every country around the world. It is the basis for global security, for a normal system of international relations,” he said.
