Medvedev calls to increase capacity of Moscow airports

Commenting on the work of air traffic controllers, he stressed that the most important factor in their work is "responsibility, a colossal responsibility"

VNUKOVO (Moscow airport), June 20 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has called to build up the capacity of Moscow airports by making optimal use of the structure of the air space and modernization of control centers.

"It is obvious to all those present that the load on the airports will grow in future, that people will be more intensively use the aviation possibilities. Therefore, it is obvious that we will have to increase the through capacity of Moscow airports, including by means of optimization of the structure of the air space and modernization of technical equipment of control centers," the prime minister said at a conference on organization of air traffic held at the Moscow Center of Automated Air Traffic Control.

"It is no coincidence that the conference is being held at the Moscow Center which impresses any person who travels by air," Medvedev said, adding that he was one of the air passengers and that after the conference he would take a flight to go far away.
