MOSCOW, June 19 (Itar-Tass) —— A fire at warehouses in northern Moscow has been put out, the city fire department told Itar-Tass.
It took the firemen almost five hours to extinguish the blaze.
The fire broke out in a two-story ferroconcrete industrial building at 4, Ilmensky Passage. Firemen feared it might spread into a nearby administrative building after the blaze had grown to 1,000 square meters.
Four helicopters, including three Kamov Ka-32 and the largest firefighting helicopter Mil Mi-26, assisted the firemen. They dumped water on the burning building for 50 times.
The building’s roof caved in. no one was hurt. The burned structures are being cleaned up and causes of the fire are being found out, the department said.
