MOSCOW, June 18 (Itar-Tass) —— Two road police inspectors were caught red handed for extorting a bribe in western Moscow, the press service of the Moscow main police department told reporters on Sunday.
“The officers from the internal security police department in the Western Administrative District of Moscow detained two road police inspectors from the battalion of the road police in the Western Administrative District on suspicions of extorting a bribe of 5,000 roubles at about 15:00 Moscow time on Sunday in Gorbunov Street,” the press service said.
The press service explained that a 35-year-old lieutenant and a 26-year-old junior lieutenant were extorting this sum from a driver, who was detained for violation of the traffic rules.
The materials over this incident were passed in the Kuntsevo inter-district investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee.
“Meanwhile, a service inquiry continues that will result in the dismissal of both road police inspectors from the police, the assistant commander of the road police battalion in the Western Administrative District will be reprimanded, and the commander of the battalion will be disciplined,” the press service underlined.
