United Shipbuilding Corporation President Trotsenko tenders his resignation

He will quit the job on July 1

MOSCOW, June 15 (Itar-Tass) —— United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) President Roman Trotsenko has tendered his resignation. He will quit the job on July 1, a corporation representative told Itar-Tass.

He said the resignation statement had been submitted to the staff of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and the USC Board of Directors.

Sources told Itar-Tass that Trotsenko would be promoted. Trotsenko had consolidated shipbuilding assets in the three years of his office. “The corporation has both defense and civilian orders; the revenues grew by 2.5 times and the profit enlarged by eight times in the past three years. The most complex mission – the signing of contracts with the Defense Ministry – has been accomplished,” the source said.

He said that Sevmash Director Andrei Dyachkov or USC Vice-President Anatoly Tyukov may take the post when Trotsenko resigns. Another source said that former Presidential Representative to the Northwestern Federal District, Chairman of the Sovcomflot Board of Directors Ilya Klebanov also aspired for the position.

The USC abstained from comment.

The USC, the largest shipbuilding company in Russia, was established by a presidential ordinance in 2007 with 100% of shares owned by the government. The corporation unites more than 50 enterprises and organizations (shipbuilding and ship repairing plants and leading design bureaus).

It consolidates about 70% of the domestic shipyard. The main market of the corporation is Russia, but it also exports products to 20 countries.
