VLADIVOSTOK, June 14 (Itar-Tass) — The builders of the bridge over Bosporus East Strait have completed the asphalt paving of the main span of the bridge and are preparing for a final dynamic testing of the entire facility, an official in the press service of the Vladivostok-based subsidiary of the UKS-MOST bridge-building company.

It remains slightly more than two weeks before the bridge is to be put into operation. The builders are engaging in concluding operations: painting, the installation of lighting and fencing, and the assembly of monitoring systems.

The bridge across Bosporus East Strait is one of facilities provided for by the programme "The Development of Vladivostok as an International Cooperation Center in the Asia-Pacific Region" and is to be built by the time of the APEC summit which is to be held on the Russkiy (Russian) Island in September.

The bridge runs from the Nazimov Peninsula, across Bosporus East Strait and to Cape Novosilsky on the Russkiy Island. The length of the bridge will be 3.1 km. The world's longest cable-stayed span -- 1,104 metres-- stretches between two pylon-type supports that are 320 m high. The bridge is held above the water surface by guy-ropes with an aggregate length of over 54 km.

The bridge is to open to traffic on July 1.
