MOSCOW, June 13 (Itar-Tass) — Almost 50,000 football fans gathered in Moscow’s fan zones and sports bars on Tuesday to watch Russia and Poland play in their Euro 2012 Group A in the Polish capital of Warsaw.

“No serious incidents were registered,” the press service of the Moscow city police told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

The match was broadcast in three open air areas: the All-Russian Exhibition Centre (VVC), Luzhniki and Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure.

“Around 14,700 visited open air spots and another 34,300 spent their evening in cafes and sports bars,” the press service said.

Around 1,700 police were engaged to ensure law and order in fan zones and other outlets.

Russia and Poland tied 1-1 in their Euro 2012 Group A match.
