WASHINGTON DC, June 13 (Itar-Tass) —— The cancellation of the Jackson-Vanik Amendment will be good for Russian and U.S. business, Chairman of the Coordination Council of Compatriots in the United States Igor Baboshkin told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
A group of U.S. Senators proposed to invalidate the amendment earlier in the day.
“The amendment had been slowing down bilateral trade growth and discrediting Russia,” he said.
The Coordination Council’s focus “is culture, not politics. But many our representatives have called for cancelling the amendment at various forums,” Baboshkin said.
