WARSAW, June 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Polish police had to use water cannons against a group of Polish fans who attacked a column of Russian fans heading for the National Stadium ahead of tonight's Euro 2012 game against Poland in Warsaw.

Earlier in the day, police fired warning shots into the air to prevent violence between the two countries’ fans. Several persons were hurt.
