An-2 plane with 13 people lost in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region

A special aircraft took off from the city of Perm to fly over the territory where the An-2 might land or crash

YEKATERINBURG, June 12 (Itar-Tass) —— An An-2 airplane with presumably 13 people onboard was reported missing in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region, a spokesman for the regional police department told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the town of Serov on Tuesday. “According to preliminary data, the plane’s passengers were drinking alcoholic drinks before the plane took off. Several motor cars were left at the airfield. Presumably, these motor vehicles belonged to the plane’s passengers. Police are looking at several theories. According to one, the people used the plane to go fishing or to visit a bathhouse in a neighboring district. The people don’t answer telephone call to their mobile phones,” the spokesman said.
