Lavrov stressed Iran should participate in the conference

MOSCOW, June 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Moscow is ready to host an international conference on Syria, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.

Commenting on the situation in Syria, Lavrov said that “Russia has suggested organising a conference based on clear principles.” Thus, now any progress in settlement of the conflict may be only from the side of the US, the foreign minister said.

Lavrov stressed Iran should participate in the conference.
