KIEV, June 12 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine's soccer team has won from Sweden, 2-1 (0-0), in a match of the first series in Group D of the European soccer championship at the Olympiisky Stadium here.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a forward of the Swedish team, opened the score in the 52nd minute. Andrei Shevchenko evened the score three minutes later. He also scored a winning goal in the 61st minute. Another match played in Group D between France and England was drawn, 1-1.
Ukraine is in the lead in Group D with three points after the first series. France and England have one point each, and Sweden has none.
In the second series to be played on June 15, the French will play amatch against the Ukrainians in Donetsk and an England-Sweden mach is to be played in Kiev.
