TOKYO, June 11 (Itar-Tass) — Japan’s Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba will visit Moscow soon, speaker of Russia’s State Duma Sergei Naryshkin said on Monday during a meeting with leaders of Japanese diplomacy.
Naryshkin passed to Gemba a welcome from Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and expressed satisfaction that contacts between the two ministries “are of periodic character and happen quite often.”
“Sergei Lavrov is waiting for you in Moscow,” Naryshkin said. “I am aware your visit is due very soon.”
“Our objective is to use to the utmost opportunities of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the experience for expanding cooperation between our countries,” he continued.
Gemba, in his turn, expressed hope for overall development of cooperation between Moscow and Tokyo.
