NALCHIK , June 10 (Itar-Tass) —— One more gunman was destroyed in the zone of the counter-terrorist operation regime in the city of Baksan of the Kabardino-Balkaria. An operation to search and detain members of the bandit underground operating on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria is being held here since early morning. Three policemen got injuries, ITAR-TASS learnt at the law enforcement bodies of the republic on Sunday.

On Saturday, a car of a FSB officer was exploded in the city of Baksan at about 23.30 Moscow time, Major police officer got grave injuries. Later on, he died in hospital. During the search for criminals, law enforcers spotted a group of people in the area of Baksan’s northern outskirts who opened submachine-gun fire when they were asked to show their documents. As a result of an armed clash, one of the attackers was neutralized and another two managed to escape. Three police officers got injuries. After that the counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in Basan, including Elbrusskaya, Zashchitniki and Khazhmetov Streets, as well as the northern administrative border of the city, since 05.30 Moscow time.
