Venezuela’s Chavez satisfied with medical examination results

CARACAS, June 10 (Itar-Tass) —— Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez has undergone medical examination after a course of radiotherapy, which produced encouraging results.

"Everything was absolutely wonderful," Chavez reporters on the steps of the presidential palace on Saturday.

"I feel very well,” he declared, adding that the medical examination included CT and MRI.

He once again expressed his confidence in his victory in the upcoming October presidential election in Venezuela.

"We will prevail in the battle of October 7," he said.

Since last June, when Chavez underwent the first operation to remove a malignant tumor, he has taken four courses of chemotherapy - three in Cuba and one in Venezuela. In October, Chavez announced that he had beaten cancer, but after a few months later doctors discovered he had a new tumor in the pelvis. In late February, Chavez was operated on in a Havana hospital. After that he started taking courses of radiation therapy, for which he made regular trips to Cuba. Last time he returned from Havana on May 11.
