SARATOV, June 9 (Itar-Tass) — A criminal case has been opened in Russia’s Saratov region against a man who killed a kitten, a spokesman for the regional prosecutor’s office said on Saturday.

The accident took place in a hostel when a kitten got in the lap of a drunken man, who smashed it against the door jamb. The kitten’s owner reported the incident to the police.
