SARATOV, June 9 (Itar-Tass) — A criminal case has been opened in Russia’s Saratov region against a man who killed a kitten, a spokesman for the regional prosecutor’s office said on Saturday.
The accident took place in a hostel when a kitten got in the lap of a drunken man, who smashed it against the door jamb. The kitten’s owner reported the incident to the police.
The criminal case was opened on charges of cruelty to animals that carry a punishment of up to two years in custody.
