WROCLAW, Poland, June 9 (Itar-Tass) – Following the victory of Russia’s national team vs the Chezh Republic in the opening game of the Euro 2012 championship, Russian fans who watched the game the Wroclaw City stadium Friday night do not conceal their jubilant moods.
Right after the game ended 4-1, thousands of fans streamed to the downtown area to celebrate the success. Many of them had a feast right at the Wroclaw railway station, since the early trains have already started leaving for Warsaw where Russia is expected to play vs. Poland June 12. At the time of reporting, the central streets in Wroclaw were swept by a jubilant atmosphere. Slogans and songs can be heard there, even through the time is well past midnight.
“We’re more than just happy because that was a splendid game and we hope our team will perform in much the same manner in the other upcoming games,” a fan coming from the city of Yekaterinburg in the Urals told Itar-Tass.
Russian fans think the main thing about this championship is that “everything’s peaceful here, without any clashes,” one of the fans said.
In the meantime, Czech fans were seen to leave the stadium in a rather depressed mood.
The Czechs still have two games ahead. Their adversaries in the pitch will be the Greeks and the Poles, and the fans hope the team will win both games.
