LODZ (Poland), June 8 (Itar-Tass) — About 50 Polish hooligans beat up foreign football fans, which were staying at a bar in downtown Lodz, ahead of the opening of the European Football Championship. The eyewitnesses said that the foreigners were speaking Russian and English.
The car with the masked criminals drove up to the bar. They broke in the bar and started beating all visitors before the arrival of the police. Two football fans were seriously injured in the incident and were brought to the local clinic. The attackers were not detained hot on their traces.
The bar owner did not file a petition to the police out of fears for revenge.
The Russian Embassy in Poland does not have any information about the incidents with Russian football fans in the country.
