Moscow’s Red Square to be closed in run up to Russia Day

Visitors can enter the Moscow Kremlin from the side of the Borovitskaya Tower

MOSCOW, June 8 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow’s Red Square will be closed for visitors during the five day preparations for festive celebrations to mark the national holiday – Russia Day due on June 12, the press service of the Federal Protection Service said on Friday.

“As a result of preparations for festive celebrations devoted to Russia Day Red Square and Lenin’s Mausoleum will be closed for visitors from June 8 to June 12,” he said.

On June 12 the Moscow Kremlin will be open only for visitors of the Armory Museum.

“They can enter the Moscow Kremlin from the side of the Borovitskaya Tower,” the press service said.
