Russia, Israel diplomats discuss Mideast settlement

The two sides expressed their “mutual satisfaction with the substantive nature of the Russian-Israeli political dialogue

MOSCOW, June 8 (Itar-Tass) — The situation in the Middle East and North Africa and the state of affairs in the Middle East settlement was discussed in Moscow on Thursday by Russian President’s Special Middle East Envoy, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov with visiting Deputy Director General, Director of the Europe and Asia Department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry Anna Azari.

“The Russian side reiterated the need to create conditions for the resumption of Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, confirmed the readiness of Moscow, along with other members of the ‘Quartet,’ to continue to provide the needed assistance for the earliest overcoming of stagnation in the peace process,” the Russian Foreign Ministry informed.

The two sides expressed their “mutual satisfaction with the substantive nature of the Russian-Israeli political dialogue, the development cooperation in trade and economic sphere, as well as the level of cooperation in the sphere of high technology.”
