KIEV, June 7 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukraine hopes that “a wonderful football” will become the main victory at the European Football Championship, the Ukrainian governmental press service said in an interview with the German television on Thursday.
The prime minister said about his wish that the Ukrainian team will win the championship, because the country did very much so that “this football holiday will be held successful.”
“Certainly, we will welcome the success of any strong team,” he noted. Azarov gave as an example the German team, which “has highly skilled players and shows a very confident game,” therefore they “can also win in this championship.”
Ukrainian officials noted many times before high skills of all participants in the competition, preferring to see Ukraine as a winner of first UEFA President Henri Delaunay’s Cup. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Pyotr Poroshenko told Itar-Tass that he is optimistic about the prospects of the Ukrainian team at the Euro-2012. “I believe that Ukraine will win. In any case, I hope for this,” the minister underlined.
