MOSCOW, June 6 (Itar-Tass) —— Ray Bradbury was one of the best fantasy writers of the 20th century, film director Andrei Konchalovsky, aggrieved at the writer’s death, told ltar-Tass on Wednesday.
“The great fantasy writer of the 20th century has passed away. He was an example to emulate to all of us. More than one generation of writers in this genre drew inspiration from his work,” Konchalovsky said.
He said, “Ray Bradbury by his wonderful novel ‘The Martian Chronicles’ established himself as a most significant author in the history of science fiction and imparted an added dimension to this literary genre, combining effectively technological progress with rare knowledge of the human heart.”
“Bradbury was one of the most widely read and respected authors in our country,” Konchalovsky said.
